On June 21, recent LaRue County High School graduate Aaron Mayfield played in the 2008 Kentucky Senior East-West All-Stars Baseball game. The double header was played at the University of Louisville Patterson Field. Forty-two baseball players from across the state were selected by the coaches in their region to participate. The West won the first game 5-2 followed by the East beating the West in the second game 7-4. Each team allowed each pitcher to pitch two innings. Mayfield started the pitching for the West allowing no hits and three strikeouts. He was 1 for 4 at the plate.
